What is Horrorfied?
Horrorfied is a new Horror Convention being run by Striking Events in April 2025. It will be a 2 day event, taking place on 19-20 April. There will be star guests from the world of horror signing autographs, doing photo shoots and talks, as well as various activities taking place and a hall full of vendors!
Who are Striking Events?
Striking Events are the organisers of Horrorfied. You can find out more on the About Us page.
Tickets
Do I need a ticket to attend the event?
Yes, you can purchase either a Saturday only, Sunday only or Weekend ticket on our website.
How do I buy tickets?
Tickets are available via Eventbrite – visit the ticket shop here for the full list – Horrorfied ticket shop
Do you send tickets in the post or are they e-tickets?
All tickets will be e-tickets through Eventbrite. This means that you will receive an email with your tickets on and you can also access them if you download the Eventbrite App and create an account on there.
PLEASE make sure you enter your email CORRECTLY when booking, or you could experience a delay in receiving your tickets.
What happens if I do not get an email through?
Please contact us at mark@strikingevents.com and we will check whether your booking is registered or whether there has been another problem. We will either be able to work that out with you or may point you to Eventbrite if it is beyond our understanding.
Can I bring a screenshot of my tickets’ QR code for you to scan?
Yes!
Note: Once scanned a QR code will not be able to be ‘re-scanned’ so keep your tickets/QR codes safe.
If I have purchased a single day ticket and wish to upgrade to a weekend can I do that?
Yes, email us at mark@strikingevents.com and we can arrange that for you.
Are there Children’s tickets available?
No, not as such. We do allow children under 16 to attend but they must be accompanies by an adult and must also have a full price ticket.
Refunds
If the event is cancelled will I get a refund?
Yes, if the event is cancelled then you will be refunded for any tickets purchased.
If a guest I am wanting to meet cancels do I get a refund of any photo, autograph or diamond ticket I may have already purchased?
Yes, absolutely. If a guest cancels then you get a full refund of any tickets you have purchased related to that guest.
Note: Entry tickets will not be refunded if a guest cancels, as the event will still be going ahead.
If a guest I wanted to meet cancels can I get a refund of my entrance ticket?
No, I am afraid not as the event is still going ahead and the entrance ticket is not based on any specific guest.
On the Horrorfied Eventbrite shop it says no refunds? Why is that bearing in mind the answers above?
The no refunds on the Horrorfied Eventbrite shop refers to refunds just because you have changed your mind or can no longer make it. Of course, if you have purchased a ticket for something we can no longer provide, such as a guest specific ticket and that guest cancels, then of course you will be refunded in full for that.
Accessibility
What are your policies regarding accessibility?
Please refer to our accessibility page on our website for full details. If you have further questions after that please do email us on extrahelp@strikingevents.com
We are here to help and start from the position that we want to make the event as fun and inclusive as possible for absolutely everyone. To that end, a lot of our policy is ad hoc and tailored to the specific individuals needs.
Is the venue fully accessible?
Yes, the venue is fully accessible with elevators to the first floor and disabled toilets throughout the venue.
Does the venue allow Assistance animals on site?
Yes, the venue is happy to welcome guidance and assistance dogs on site. Unfortunately no other pets or animals are permitted though.
Diamond Passes
If I buy a Diamond Pass do I need an entry ticket too?
Yes, the Diamond Pass just includes 1 autograph and 1 photo shoot. You also need to purchase an entry ticket for the day of your Diamond Pass or for the weekend.
If I have a Diamond Pass can someone queue with me?
Yes. With the photoshoot they can queue with you up to the entrance of the photo studio and then just step aside at the back while you have your photo. For the autograph someone can go up with you and meet the guest along with you.
Autographs
Will the guests sign anything?
They guests are generally happy to sign anything so long as they do not find it offensive. We do leave it to their discretion though as we would not want to make them uncomfortable signing something they objected to.
Will the guests personalise their autograph to me?
In most cases yes they will. There may be the odd occasion where in order to get everyone to meet the guest we have to stop personalisations in order to move things along quicker, but we hope not to find ourselves in that position as we know personalisation is important to some people.
Do I have to have my autographed personalised or will the guest just sign their name?
Most guests will be happy to just sign their name if that is what you want.
I don't have anything to get signed. Is there anything at the event I can use?
Yes, we will have a selection of 8×10 photos that you can choose from if you don’t have anything of your own that you want signed.
How many autographs can I get when I meet the guest?
You must have an autograph ticket for each autograph you get signed. Usually you can get as many signed as you wish to purchase, although if a guest is really busy then we may limit this number to 5 in order that as many people as possible get the chance to meet the guest. That decision will be made on the day.
Will Robert Englund be signing autographs for people other than Diamond Pass Holders?
Yes, he will, but they will be strictly limited in numbers. Robert will sign for Diamond Passes first and then once they have been completed any extra time he has will be allocated to ticket holders on the day. We have kept the number of Diamond Passes to a level where Robert will definitely have some spare capacity for on the day autographs, but they will be limited and issued on a virtual queue ticket system on the day.
Can I get my autograph authenticated at the event?
We plan on having one of the autograph authentication companies at the event and so you will be able to arrange for them to authenticate your autograph for an additional fee that they will charge direct to you. Of course, having got the autograph yourself you will know it is authentic and so unless you plan on reselling it at some point there really is no need to pay extra for authentication.
Photo Shoots
How many people can be in a photo shoot?
Each person in the photo must have a photo shoot ticket but then you can have as many as you want. If you have 3 people then you will need 3 tickets, but you will also get 3 photos so you can change poses and get 3 different pictures which can be quite fun.
Will I be able to chat with the guest when attending my photo shoot?
Other than a quick hello, no not really. The photo shoots are just that and not an opportunity for a chat and they will also be quite strictly scheduled so that we can ensure we get through everyone with a ticket, but also not take up time with the guest standing round doing nothing when they could be meeting you for an autograph, or on stage or something far more worthwhile.
Can I put my arm round the guest?
Some guests are ok with this and some are not. If a guest prefers not to be touched, for any reason, you will be informed before you enter the photo studio area. The best rule of thumb is just be respectful and generally it will be obvious what a guest is and is not comfortable with.
Can a guest put their arm round me?
Of course and many will choose to in order to get a nice photo! In the case of Robert Englund, his arm will likely be round your neck with his glove on, so it takes all sorts!!!!! Of course, if you prefer not to be touched then that is fine and please just let our crew member know before you go into the photo studio and they will relay this to the guest.
Do I get a digital or hard copy of my photo?
You will be e-mailed a digital copy of your photo as you leave the photo area. Most people now seem to want the photo digitally so that they can use on their social media etc and so we have chosen to go that route. Of course, if you do want a physical copy printed out then we can also do that for you for a small charge just outside of the photo studio area.
Do I need to be at the photo area for when the photo shoot starts or can I come along part way through?
We always advise to be at the photo studio at the start time of the photo session, but so long as you arrive during the allotted time for the photo shoot you will be added into the queue area and will get your photo shoot. Please try not to leave it until the very last minute though! 🙂
I have a clash where I have a photo booked at the same time as something else. What do I do?
Please see one of our crew members, either in the photo area or on the help desk, and they will look at your schedule and let you know how best to navigate the clash. As a general rule you should go to the things that is scheduled first and get that done, even if it means arriving to the photo session mid way through.
Queues
Will I have to stand in queues all day to get autographs?
No, for any guests with more than 30 people waiting to see them we will be operating a virtual queue system where we give you a numbered ticket and will then call you back in batches of numbers when the queue has gone down. So, for example, say you have ticket number 5, you will be able to join the queue fairly shortly after the first 10 or so people have been seen for the day. You will be called in a batch of numbers 1 to 30 can now join the physical queue. Once ticket numbers 1 to 30 have been mostly seen we will then call ticket numbers 31 to 60 and so on. If you miss your call then you can go at any point after that so you do not miss your place. This all means that rather than just standing in long queues all day you are free to enjoy the rest of the event, or even be in a physical queue for someone else, whilst also virtually queuing to meet other guests simultaneously!
How will queues for Photo shoots work?
Shortly before a photo shoot is scheduled to begin we will begin queuing people with tickets to that photo shoot in rows in a holding area. When the photo shoot starts the first row will move over from the holding area to the immediate area of the photo studio and will then go through and get their photo. As that physical queue goes down we will then add the next row from the holding area across to the actual photo studio area and so on until everyone has been seen.
I have an issue which means I cannot stand for long in a queue. Is there any help I can get?
Yes, absolutely. No matter what the queue is please see one of our crew and they will work out the best way to help you. It may be that they can find you a chair to have whilst queuing, or it may be a case of jumping you to the front. We are there to help, so any problems always ask a member of crew! :—)
