Horrorfied is brought to you by Striking Events Limited, headed up by Mark Woollard.  Mark has over 30 years experience in the events industry having run his first Toy Collectors Fair at a night club in Northampton back in 1991!

Mark went on to co-run many other events with his best friend and business partner, Jason Joiner.  These included other Toy collectors Fairs and also Star Wars Conventions during the 90s. In 2002 Collectormania at The Centre MK Shopping Centre was born, the first event of its kind where film and tv stars were brought to meet the public rather than the public having to go and meet them!

Funnily enough, the headline guest for that first Collectormania event was none other than Robert Englund!

2003 saw the first London Film and Comic Con and then after taking a few years break in 2005 Mark came back together with Jason to run numerous single subject conventions around genres like Stargate, Twilight, Joss Whedonverse Franchise, Tru Blood, Lost and many others. 2007 also saw the birth of Sportsmania and then in 2012 we came together with Media 10 Limited to co-run Destination Star Trek, Europe’s Official Star Trek Convention. That event in 2012 was the first in the world to ever announce all 5 Star Trek Captains appearing at one event at the same time. (There were only 5 in 2012)!!!! Destination Star Trek continued until 2022, celebrating 10 years of amazing Star Trek fun!

In 2023, following the Coronavirus pandemic Mark decided he wanted to go back to his roots and formed Striking Events whose aim was to bring Comic Cons to people all round the country with lots of fun activities and some of the best exhibitors in the country.  Deliberately these Comic Con events do not have film and tv stars and are more focused on the whole experience of comic con at a family friendly and affordable rate!

Now, in 2024, Striking Events brings all its past experience, along with a group of avid horror fans, to present Horrorfied, A weekend event for Fans of Horror!  We have so many plans for this event with some amazing guests, but also some amazing entertainment, much of which will be interactive, and some will never have been done at an event before! We promise to make this event the absolute best it can be and we hope that you will join us for the ride.
